Cubico Sustainable Investments (Cubico) has launched a scholarship for students enrolled in engineering majors at Clemson University in South Carolina, United States.

The Cubico Sustainable Investments Annual Scholarship in Engineering will provide financial support to one first and one final year student annually.

The scholarship, which has been put in place for an initial three-year period, was designed to support academically gifted students who may otherwise struggle to fund their education.

Along with the financial support, Cubico will also be offering the Clemson University scholarship students the opportunity to undertake work experience at its solar projects in the state.

South Carolina is home to three solar photovoltaic projects in Cubico’s 600 MW United States portfolio: the 106 MW Palmetto Plains and 100 MW Huntley projects, both in Orangeburg County, and the 102 MW Midlands project in Calhoun County.

Oliver Alexander, Head of USA at Cubico, said: “At Cubico, we take great pride in working with our local communities to create and support initiatives which address the diverse range of environmental and social needs across the countries in which we operate.

“We are really pleased to have partnered with Clemson University in South Carolina to help the next generation of engineers.”
