Madalyn

Development Manager

Can you tell us about your background and why you decided to join Cubico?
I spent six years in Houston working as a land negotiator in the oil & gas industry. While I gained valuable experience during that time, I always had a desire to enter the renewable energy sector. So, when the opportunity arose to make the switch to renewables with Cubico, I knew it was the right move for me.

How have your skillsets from the oil & gas industry translated to your role in renewables?
Surprisingly well! A lot of the skills I developed, like negotiation and land acquisition, have proven to be valuable in my current role at Cubico. It’s been fascinating to see how a lot of my previous skillsets seamlessly transfer to the renewable energy industry but there was definitely still a learning curve!

Findlay

Solar Engineering Analyst

Findlay joined Cubico two and a half years ago as a graduate engineer and has since transitioned into the role of Solar Engineering Analyst.

What motivated you to take this opportunity in Madrid?
I’ve always enjoyed working with colleagues from different countries, and moving to Madrid felt like a natural step in my professional development. The opportunity to engage more closely with the Spanish team and immerse myself in the local market was too good to pass up.

How has Cubico supported your transition?
Cubico has been incredibly supportive, from assisting with relocation logistics to providing Spanish language lessons. The team in Madrid has also been very welcoming, which has made the move much smoother. I’m looking forward to deepening my technical expertise while experiencing a new culture. Madrid is a great city, and I’m looking forward to exploring it while also working in a new office environment!

Will

Origination & Execution Manager

After five great years in London, I moved to Mexico City to be part of Cubico’s growth here. The renewable energy market in Mexico has huge potential, and I’m excited to help drive the energy transition.

The move’s been a big but positive change, and I’m looking forward to learning from the team and growing with the business.
