Improving educational prospects and supporting the basic needs of communities in our countries of operation are among the key focuses of our global corporate social responsibility programme.

In countries like Brazil, where social and academic disparties can be significant across different regions, we give special attention to helping to reduce these gaps.

We were therefore very pleased to be recently invited by the director of the Jose Bezerra Assunção School in Paranatama, Pernambuco, to participate in its Mother’s Day campaign.

We actually funded the construction of the school back in 2019, which is partially powered by a solar photovoltaic system, and it was a great opportunity to work together again.

To kick off the campaign, members of the team from our Caetés project, also in Pernambuco, visited a local health unit, one of many across the country which takes care of the basic needs of local communities.

Once at the unit, which also looks after mothers and children, our team shared gifts including hygiene products from a sustainable local company and school supplies, as well as contributing towards breakfast at the event. The gifts were also extended to those in homes near the health unit.

As a result of our contribution, around 150 mothers and children were served by the campaign.
